Howard College Swank PolicyHoward College/ SWCD Instructors and Staff can request the library secure a license for a video through Swank to be used for educational or recreational purposes. Requestors are limited to 2 requests per semester, excluding courses designed around film. Requestors will complete a request form online through an Instructor Account (see instructions below). This form will need to justify how the requested film furthers the educational and recreational needs of Howard College and SWCD students.
The library is limited to 25 videos per year. We suggest members of a department work together to request licenses for videos that can accommodate larger audiences.
Library staff may take up to 48 hours to evaluate a request. Swank may take up to 48 hours to add an approved title. Please plan accordingly.
Swank hosts newer releases and popular releases. Many of these titles are not part of the standard selection process and will thus incur an additional charge that the requestor's department will need to commit to pay before library staff can approve the request.
