Yes, children are permitted in the library. Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all time and should not be a disturbance to other library patrons. .
Students are always welcome to do their student loan applications, etc. on the library computers. However, we are not able to assist with filling out the forms since we are not trained or qualified to do so. For help with specific questions on the FAFSA, please call or visit Financial Aid.
The library does carry some test preparation materials for TEAS, ACT, GED, HESI, SAT, and TSI Some of these materials can only be used in the library, please check at the Information Desk for these restrictions. The library has an online resource for test preparation material called Learning Express Library. As for other test materials not listed above, please check with the Testing services center.
Students, staff, and faculty will use their HC credentials (same as email and Blackboard) to log in to databases. Other library users will need to request access.

No. An instructor may place a required textbook on reserve; however, the library does not order and place on the library shelves current required textbooks.
The only videos the library has in stock are educational DVDs that professors have placed on reserve. Most library video services are now online.
Yes, they are accessible for all registered library users by searching the databases.
Please do not conduct phone conversations on the main floor or study areas. Kindly respect the rights of others to study or work in a quiet environment by setting cell phone ringers to silent and doing text messaging in a quiet, non-disruptive manner. Cell phone usage is allowed in the following areas if it is not disruptive: study rooms, restrooms, and the foyer at the entrance.

•Your initial password is Hc and your full HC ID number (example: Hc123456789). Returning students use last semester's password. You may be asked to change your password after the initial login. It must be over 8 characters and include at least one capital letter and at least one number. Cannot use first or last name. Set your security questions to be able to reset your password at home instead of having IT reset it. If you cannot remember your password, contact the automated password reset service at 432-264-5106.
